Susan is an active chamber music and orchestral freelance violist and violinist in the New York metropolitan area. She is a member of The Queens Symphony and has performed with the Bronx Arts Ensemble, Long Island Philharmonic, and Dance Theater of Harlem. Susan has performed regularly in New York City theater orchestras of numerous Broadway productions including Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Grand Hotel, Guys and Dolls, A Secret Garden, and My Fair Lady. Ms. Gordon has also performed in the Kool Jazz Festival and recorded with and or performed live with many headline entertainers including Tommy Tune, Mel Torme, Ben Vereen, Julio Iglesias, Natalie Cole, Phil Woods,Tony Bennett, Joel Grey, Peter Schickele (PDQ Bach) and the legendary Ray Charles. Susan holds a B.S. in Music Education from New York University and a M.F.A. in Chamber Music from Sarah Lawrence College. In addition to holding her N.J. Certification as a Teacher of Instrumental Music, Ms. Gordon is a Certified Suzuki Instructor of Violin and Viola which she received from The School for Strings in New York City under the direction of Louise Behrend. Additionally she received Orff Level I and II Certification from Montclair State University and has done post graduate studies at the Hartt School of Music and the Juilliard School in music performance and pedagogy. Susan has studied violin and viola with renowned teachers including Sally Thomas, William Lincer, Jesse Levine and Paul Doktor. Ms. Gordon is currently the String Instructor of the Warren Point School in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
